๐Ÿพ Health Guarantee โ€“ Gentle Giant Paws ๐Ÿพ

At Gentle Giant Paws, we take great pride in raising healthy, well-socialized, and genetically sound Maine Coon kittens. Our commitment to quality means you can feel confident welcoming one of our kittens into your home.

Below is our official Health Guarantee for all kittens placed in loving homes.

โœ… 72-Hour Initial Health Guarantee

All of our kittens come with a 72-hour health guarantee from the time of pickup or delivery.

  • You must take your kitten to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours.

  • If your vet determines that the kitten has a serious health issue or is unfit for sale due to a congenital or communicable disease, we will:

    • Offer a replacement kitten (if available), or

    • Issue a full refund upon return of the kitten with veterinary documentation.

This guarantee is void if the kitten is not examined by a vet within 72 hours of arrival.

๐Ÿงฌ 1-Year Genetic Health Guarantee

We also provide a 12-month genetic health guarantee against life-threatening hereditary conditions common in the Maine Coon breed, such as:

  • Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM)

  • Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)

  • Hip Dysplasia (severe cases)

If a covered genetic condition is diagnosed within the first year:

  • Written proof from a licensed veterinarian (including test results) is required.

  • A second opinion from our designated vet may be requested.

  • Upon confirmation, we will offer a replacement kitten or refund (excluding veterinary or shipping costs).

๐Ÿ’‰ Health & Veterinary Care

All kittens are:

  • Vet-checked before leaving our home

  • Vaccinated and dewormed according to age

  • Sent home with a full health record

Kittens are not released to new homes until they are at least 12 weeks old.

๐Ÿก Buyer Responsibilities

To maintain the health guarantee, buyers agree to:

  • Provide immediate vet care within 72 hours of arrival

  • Keep the kitten indoors only

  • Provide proper nutrition, a clean environment, and routine vet care

  • Never neglect, abuse, or rehome the kitten without notifying the breeder

Failure to meet these responsibilities will void the health guarantee.

โ— Whatโ€™s Not Covered

This guarantee does not cover:

  • Minor, treatable health issues (e.g., fleas, worms, colds)

  • Illnesses caused by neglect, accidents, or improper care

  • Emotional distress due to changes in environment

  • Health problems that occur after the guarantee period
